i was thinking of putting a hardened upper pipe with no BOV and putting my BOV as reasonably close to the turbo as possable.... well not thinking about it but wondering if it would be a good idea??

would doing this benefit me in any way or hurt it in anyway? would it pop off faster or louder?:hmm:

The only benefit you would recieve is it may blow off louder as there is more air post BOV to be vented. Quicker, no as it's purpose is to vent the air that is bounced back off of the throttle body plate. You may need to adjust it to a harder setting though. I've seen a few that have the BOV positioned in the bumper to get full sound effects that aren't dampened by the hood. Your call on if you want to do it, it'll still work the same but just needs adjusted.

^^ Haha. Thats exactly what I thought. i think somebody is trying to sneek in an answer without getting made fun of. LOL I understand, some ppl like the attention, me being one of them. LOL

is the bov better being closer to the throttle body or turbo? i was under the impression that its better being closer to the throttle body

youll have a slower boost response because the BOV will be blowing out all the turbos air, then when it finally closes your gonna have the turbo trying to get new air to the intake, as opposed to it letting air out near the intake manifold, while the turbo is still forcing air down and into the intercooler and piping and then when the BOV closes there is already amounts of air halfway to even 3/4 of the way through the system.

There is a video of how it sounds and you have to have your BOV fu(king tight.
Avoid the 3.0 twin turbo, its an eclipse with a 2.0

And this is only halfway down the line, you want it closer to the turbo?

I was told the same thing. On both my 420a's its within a foot of the TB. Local Guru said thats the way it needs to be. Something about the release pressure being contained to the upper part of the charge pipe.

The Guru never has given me bad advice, he is old as dirt and played with boosted cars his whole life.

I believe him.
