Searched and searched like always... I've been running insanely rich. I've narrowed it down greatly though .. Did boost leak test with no boost leaks besides my 1g BOV is leaking but right back into the intake. would this cause my big problem of black smoke pouring out of my exhaust at WOT? thanks guys

Is it recirculated? I found a major leak from my 2g (shitty plastic) BOV at 5psi and up. Not only did it cause a boost drop, but I failed emissions MAJORLY for running rich. But it wasn't to the point of dumping tons of black smoke out the rear end. But enough to notice it.

I think you have another issue as well, but that leak will be a problem.

A bov opening prematurely and that is recircing into intake won't cause a major richness per say... Might affect it a little bit and your car might die when coming to stops or die consistently when cold..

Is this car stock? Have any mods?
Tuning device? MAF OR SD?

Black smoke is definitely a sign of too much fuel.

Edit: your profile says your running ecmlink,
Post a log.

For what it's worth my bov stays open during idle due to the spring being light, helps majorly with boost recovery on large turbos but hates cold start. I'm on SD though.

Are you otherwise all stock besides ecmlink? If you have been futzing around in there that would explain everything if your not familiar with the program.

I haven't hooked ECMLink up yet I'm only in high school so I'm saving up for an EPROM still.. Car is completely stock besides 3in exhaust with no cat and 2.5 downpipe. It is recirculated.
Also, car stutters under vacuum until I hit boost it's fine ... what could that be also? IOU just don't want my car to run awful bc of all the crap I get from Honda kids.
thanks

At Idle, what is your Vacuum? Since you're all stock, you should be seeing -20 to -24hg at warm idle. If you are seeing less, then you definitely have a boost/vacuum leak. Search on hear and use the instructions for a boost-leak test and fix those.

As for the BOV, stock 1g BOV's are notorious for staying part way open at idle, they are designed that way. As long as you are recirculated, then you will not be losing any metered air. But, if you have any boost leaks (which seems a possible issue), then you will lose metered air, and will puff like a diesel @ WOT.
