BOV leaking under part throttle?

I've got a stock 1g BOV on my '95 TSi AWD.

Now under part throttle, most commonly if i'm part throttle around 4k rpms, and boosting 5-10psi, my BOV leaks.

Max boost seen on my car is 16psi. But the BOV holds shut under full boost no problems. This problem only occurs are part throttle, most common in 5th gear, around 4k RPMs at 5-10 psi.

What's going on, and how can I fix?

Maybe it leaks period, you just cann't hear at higher psi level.

Is it a new 1G BOV or a new to you 1G BOV?

Where is it leaking from? The UICP or from the shaft going to the diaphram?
If you not sure, run a intake pressure test and stick your finger in the BOV vent. You'll be able to feel if the air is coming from the bottom or the center of the outlet.

Neither, I've had this 1g for a bit, but it has always done this.

It is definately the BOV leaking and only under part throttle. Bacause I can raise to about 12psi, part throttle, and get it to go away.

Should I maybe crush a little bit?

But I'm hesitant to do that simply because I thought the stock 1g BOV should be good for up to 18psi. I'm running 16psi.

And I tested some more things with this last night. It will do it virtually in any gear, and ONLY at 4k+ rpms, and low boost. It leaks, and the engine hesitates badly. But if I give some more throttle and boost to about 10plus, it doesn't leak and accerates smoothly and powerfully.

Still looking for suggestions. The problem isn't serious, but it is bothersome, and I want to get my car running in top shape by springtime.
