bov failed me?

i was driving a little bit faster then normal city driving and i shifted from 2nd to 3rd and instead of a sexy pshhhh i heard a POP.. then my car idled all crazy and died.. i drove back to my house and then i see that the intercooler piping was blown off.. has anyone had this happen? im thinking its because i had my greddy s bov tightened too hard? so the extra boost blew the piping off?.. this was the 1st time this happened.. i loosened it and all was well.. odd WTF

I'm putting my be that maybe the motor rocked so hard during the shift that it just blew the pipe off. It maybe was doing it slowly each time you shifted hard enough, and it finally did it completely that time.

If your IC pipe popped off during operation, I'm willing to bet that a boost leak test will probably reveal many leaks. Having the BOV too tight will not make you boost any higher then what's showing on your boost gauge, it will however possibly cause compressor surge.

i've had my fair share of IC pipings blow off while driving i had big problems w/ the IC pipe from the j-pipe to the IC...i just kept tighting it and finally it just stoped doing it then i got all hard piping best way to fix the problem and i keep a screw driving in the car just incase it happens agian
