The parts that are missing consists of the

1g maf
hose from the intake to the 1g bov pipe
valve cover
injectors and fuel rail

so with that being said should i buy all the stock 1g parts, (Side note my car is a 1991 talon tsi awd) or should i buy the whole 2g maf and get the hose, filter for the 2g, then pick up 550 cc injectors and a valve cover/hose. My plans for this car are going to be a fast daily driven car. I want to hit low 12s so should i just upgrade now rather then upgrading later. I will buy a safc and a afr gauge in order to tune it if i get the 2g maf and injectors. I will also be doing a full gasket rebuild with new everything.

Also should i remove the balance shafts or keep them in?

Should i also buy a wally 255 fuel pump since im doing the whole fuel aspect of the car too.

Thanks guys

I agree with you, upgrade it now rather then later, but keep the following in mind.

if you change the injectors you are going to some sort of tuning software, stand alone or piggyback to compensate. ECMlink, apexi AFRC etc.

Also if you are running a larger fuel pump, you most likely will need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator AFPR.

Removing the balance shaft is a good idea. It removes the change of failure of the balance shaft.

goodluck

it really depends on your budget and if you need to drive that car soon. if you need that car to be up and running soon i would go the 1g route because it'll be less down time. but if time is not in play, upgrade and you won't have to worry about it later.

Upgrade to the 255 and get the 550s. An SAFC-2 and a wideband will be enough to have a fast daily driven car.

I have a 2g maf, filter adaper, and a wiring harness to connect to your 1g. I also have a fuel rail, a set of black top injectors, and a valve cover. Pm me if your interested. Ill sell cheap.

I have a good used 255lph pump for 40shipped if you are interested in the upgrade route. But you will need an afpr to control fuel press. Or all of the stock 1G parts if you want to go that route. Also if you're gonna do all the gaskets you should put in a multi-layered head gasket and arp head studs. I would get rid of the balance shafts to boost oil pressure a little and eliminate the risk of that belt breaking and getting caught up in your timing belt. It is doable with the motor in the car, but still a pita! good luck with the build.

Another note; I would personally get the car running with all of the stock parts first just to make sure there are no other "issues" with anything else. By modifying right off the bat you could end up magnifying a small problem, or masking over it, and really making it harder to track down.

sorry about that. wasn't intentional.
