Bought a front mount... read on

I was looking around DSMtrader the other day for a FMIC for my 95 talon. I saw an ad that someone posted for a Star core, with custom piping, for $300 + shipping. So I figure OK, price sounds good.. lets ask some questions.
what are the dimensions? answer : 24 x 9 x 3
mandrel bent pipes? yes
bracket and bolts included? yes

everything sounded good. I paid paypal, so it comes in the mail today, and I open up the box. I see the FMIC and it looks a bit small for what was descripted to me... I measure it.. and find out it is
22 x 6 x 2 1/4...

Weak.
There is no doubt I am filing a case with paypal on this if he doesn't resolve the problem... but is an intercooler this small going to be sufficient enough for my big 16g, and perhaps a 20g in the future? I also definately wanted the intercooler to fill up my 97 front bumper.. dont think these dimensions will do it. Any thoughts?

22x6x2.25", is that the size of the entire intercooler, endtank to endtank? or is this the measurement of the core?

although you should file a report because he lied to you, a core that size with piping for 300+ shipping isn't horribly bad. and it'll probably be able to support a 16G.

Those measurements would make me very concerned about the integrity of the sale. But then again what exactly do you expect for $300? Most piping kits cost that if not more. I don't mean to imply that him lying about the size of the core is ok, but such a low price would make you wonder. As for it being able to handle your Big 16G you would need to contact STAR and see what the core flows cfm wise.

can anyone with a 97-99 front can run out to their garage real quick and tell me the dimensions of the opening on the front bumper? I know it gets wider on bottom, so top and bottom widths, as well as height would be awesome. Thanks!
