I've had this problem for a while but due to lack of funds have not been able to fix this problem until now. With very little effort, the front of my car bottoms out and sounds like Im hitting my frame on the ground. I'm guessing its the stock struts?shocks?. My car is for drag/street only. No autocross here, a little handling improvement would be nice however.

anyways, should i just buy stock replacements? shall i just go ahead and upgrade to like 4 way KYBs or whatever? tokico? or maybe look at parts stores for oem.

Thanks.

no one has had same problem? its probably just the same shocks/struts that has been on there since factory rolled it out.

also do the fronts have struts and the rear shocks? some1 told me that, would like a confirmation prz.

thx

Yup... It sounds like your struts are shot... It's up to you what replacements you choose, but if you have the funds I would upgrade to something aftermarket...

*Here's how to test if your shocks/struts need replacing - Bounce the front/rear up and down with your body weight (hands), when you get it going release your hands and count how many times it goes back up and down - if it's greater than one time, they probably need replaced...

thanks a lot man....just gotta determine $ of aftermarket and oem and go with the one is worth it to me i guess.

There are alot of parts that can wear..

I have seen new shocks work good but sound like crap and handle bad due to things like bad bushings.

The upper strut mount... could be very worn.. I have seen bad bearing plates.

I'd do bushings and new shocks/struts.

Replace the entire front strut don't just but a new damper in the old housing..

Also if you want more travel.. Don't lower it that much... or at all but still cut down the bumpstops a bit...

Every one drives in different places in different ways... I'm slaming for looks and performance since it is'nt a DD anymore. If it was I would just have a 1" drop or no drop..
