boosting question

my car feels like it wants to bog down under low boost like 0-5 psi. just feels like it bogging down a little bit and the car doesnt feel like its pulling intill like 10 psi or so. ive had the car for 3 years and thats how it always felt to me and the car still doesnt feel like i can run lower than a 15 sec E/T could it be my timing is off i dont have a working data logger right now so i dont know and i also have and exhaust manifold bolt missing could that be causing the problem? please help

timing belt has been changed about 40,000 miles ago but not by mitsubishi so i dont know if the timing is right. im looking to get it changed by mitsubishi next week

I checked on getting my timing belt changed by john elway dodge today and they quoted me 717.59 cents . I thought he studdered at first. I was like whhhhhaaatt? I literally asked the guy if he were high. Can you believe they had the nerve to tack on that .59 cents? Since then, I've been studying how to do it myself on and off. I think i got it

Dealers notoriously overprice timing belt changes. Granted, they do require some know-how, and there is a bit of labor involved... but $600 in labor for $150 of parts?! My girlfriend had her timing belt changed at a Toyota dealership for about the same price (I was out of town... ) because they "recommended that it was about time to do so."

Learn how to do it yourself and save quite a bit of money. There are how-to articles all over VFAQ if you get lost. It isn't as hard as you may think. Good luck.

I looked at your mod list and you say you have a 16G, correct? I can't quickly think of an explanation for this unless you had that stock T25 in there; Many people complain about the lag with this turbo.

I could rebuild a 350 with a leatherman. I'm skilled but being a newbie on the 4g63, still i'd rather not miss a tooth cus that would really really suck, and i'd feel like a failed know-it-all

As long as you're not more than five or so teeth off... you shouldn't completely destroy the engine... Take a look at the VFAQ:

mitsubishi only charges 349.99 for the timing belt service including parts installed

but do yall think it could be my exhaust manifold bolt thats leaking exhaust gas causing to to be slower than normal and it to bog?

the bolt that broke off into the head is the one of the far left when looking at the motor from the front

That's a definite possibility. I would drill that bolt and use an EZOut on it ASAP. Good luck.
