Im doing a bottom end build with eagle 8.8:1 low compression pistons and rods and I wanna know if I get the standard ones would they be a direct fit?

also I remember reading somewhere that the fuel injectors are smaller on autos and if so can someone confirm that this is right and do you think that I'll have to run different injectors to run with a 12:1 FMU; Im kinda on a budget and plan on running it with a FCD and 12:1 FMU for a while till im able to save up for some kind of tuning software but if i really have to I'll try to get a SAFC oh and i almost forgot I only plan on running 8-10 psi if I go without a tune on a 50 trim t3 t4

I would appreciate some help with this subject because I already have my FMIC and piping in and dont want to stop this project and im determined to make it work. "Im not trying to build a street machine im just trying to make the best that I can out of the car that I got for graduation"

If I were you I would save the headaches and sell the car to buy a turbo car.. Especially if your on a budget.

Agreed. This is quite the project. Not saying turboing a car is impossible, but if you're into saving money and patience, consider looking at factory turbocharged cars.

Use the upgrade tech guide and do a little work on your N/T in the mean time. Get some experience, learn a few things, and have fun.

:ohdamn: not what i wanted to hear

At least you're realistic about it and accepting of your limitations. A lot of ppl aren't.

Don't lose hope though. You've got a sharp looking ride as it is. Enjoy it for what it is: a reliable and sporty cruiser. I started with a non-turbo and slowly learned on it before stepping it up to a turbo. Looking back it was a good way to go.

Patience friend ;)

do exactly what im planning on doing i was thinking about boosting my 95 talon 420a but then decided im just gonna drive it how it is and save up for a tsi or tsi awd

You can turbo your car just fine. I would recomend you find a way to boost line pressure or do a 5 spd swap. Turboing a 420a is not difficule or expensive. I built my kit for 1300 with out using any cheap parts. It all depends on your driving style and your maintenance. Yes it will stress your tranny, if it is older and not well maintained then it will most likely fail. Don't be put off by all of these 4g "sell your 420a and buy a 4g" guys. My 0-60 times are almost cut in half at 6 psi. I say its worth it.

As the others said I wouldn't turbo that, just save the money and buy a turbo car.

I say do it. One of my oldest friends from Minnesota had a 1998 GS (Auto) and boosted it. I thought that thing was so fun its crazy. Plus you know your transmission isnt going to hell anytime soon ;)

I also want to turbo my auto 420A as well but if i ever came around to doing it that i would probably rebuild the auto trans while im at it so it will atleast be able to handle it for a while

Personally, I would skip the SAFC ( and the headaches ) and go straight to Megasquirt for Engine Management. The price significance isn't great and the capabilities of Megasquirt greatly exceed those of an SAFC.

If I were you, I'd go do some reading on Megasquirt if you don't already know about it.

I must say, from forum to forum about the 2G engines i have noticed that alot of people say the 420A is a more reliable engine that the 4G63 but its downfall is there not many performance parts for it.

Here's me deuce pence.

1. Read this

2. If you have to ask what size piston is correct, don't do the rebuild yourself. The shop you choose will be able to tell you what you need.

3. There are plenty of performance parts available for the 420a these days.

4. Do what you want with your cash and car. I can spout off all these great parts to buy for your car, but I'm not the one driving it. You are. Get real world numbers from the people who own the parts you are interested in. For example, want to know how an AMM intake works with an M11 @9 lbs on stock internals? Effin' great!

is this car you daily driver? i want you to seriusly take this into consideration, can you afford to have it not running? do you work and will you be able to get there if it breaks or is in peices? do you have another vehical you can drive, if so i say go for it! if you do it and it works you will be extremly proud of your self in the end, and the menories will last forever, either way good luck! p.s. i turboed my last civic hatch which was a daily driver, it took me and a friend 16 hours to do it and it nevrr broke down once, untill we raised the boost to high and wore out the cams but it still drives
