boostcreep question. Please advise.

Now i am going to be upgrading my exhaust system as a first mod to my car. I can get a full 3" turbo back exhaust for a decent deal. Now my question is (and i have researched) how exactly does a 3" turbo back exhaust cause boost creep? Is it guaranteed with a 3" turbo back? And am I required to port my O2 dump?

As of now in stock form my turbo holds fine at 7psi all the way to the top. No other mods done to the car. So, with this complete turbo back.... IS this Guaranteed to happen to me if I do nothing but install this 3" downpipe and catback with test pipe?

Please Advise and keep the flaming to a minimum, thanks.

I would just install it and see what happens.You might creep a bit just watch your boost guage hopefully a aftermarket one the stock one is useless.O2 dumps are annoying imo.I had one on I thought it would be cool but I got sick of it in like 2 days.You can do lots of things to help creep not happen.Just search the fourms on the subject of boost creep.I didnt have creep with my 16g but I am also running a ported o2 the recirculated one.It is like 60 bucks on ebay.Also if it does creep you could just throw your cat back on and that should help.I would just try it it might not creep.Good luck

i think 3'' exhaust causing boost creep is exaggerated... mine doesnt creep at all... holds my set 15 psi steady... no spikes (thank you hallman pro) and no creep (thank you custom SS exhaust)....

or you can just o2 dump for no creep... but its really loud, and does get annoying after a while...
