this saturday is going to be my first day at a dragstrip...i want to get atleast 8.5
I have a 14b turbo, 15psi of boost, fmic, mbc, 2g manifold, dejon upper ic, prothane motor mounts, its a jdm engine, and i have the back seats, spare donut, carpets, and panles taken out of the back.
I raced it the other night down the strip but they did not have a way to clock me, my dad is friends with the owner he lets me run sometimes....but with out knowing what i will do then i am just as bad off. the guy who had the car before me ran a 8.9 with just the jdm engine and 13 psi of boost.
Now my exhaust/ boost leak question. I was thinking a way to ensure that i could get some more power for the my first time to the track without having to spend a few hundread would be to just un-bolt my exhaust from the cat back ( at the track only) i know that would free up some ponies but i am scared off boost creep. If i do take off the exhaust, and from what i have been told, it will boost leak, since i am running 15psi, should i just turn it down to about 12 and let it creep up? would that be a way to manage it?
