Boost spike

Ok I was cleaning up my engine bay today and the previous owner had the 4 vacuum lines on top of the throttle body looped into each other so i bought some vacuum blocks and capped all 4. After driving it the stock boost gauge in the car would creep up to 14lbs almost is this normal or was I supposed to leave them looped.

That gauge is an estimate from the ecu......do not trust it! Get a real gauge and run the line off the port marked 'p' that you just capped.

Ok I just bought an autometer gauge so im going to get it hooked up this weekend thank you.
