Boost Spike!!

Im spiking to about 20psi with my hallman mbc turned all the way down, i tried running without the mbc just connected the wg and turbo vacuums together and it still spikes to around 20 psi, not sure of what psi spring in the wastegate, there are no boost leaks and the vacuums are short.. Any help will be appreciated.

some info on the set up, 20g turbo, 38mm external WG, non recirc bov.

I would say check your spring
Could cause boost spike as well as vacuum lines being crossed
Might cause it but I'm not sure I would check them just to be on the safe side

a weak spring will cause little to no boost. Make sure that waste gate is not stuck close.

New spring should do the trick

Does your waste gate have two vacum ports? You may have it routed wrong. You want to use the lower port not the one on the top of the bell. If you have two like tial waste gates.

yeah its tial, its set up right, is there any other way to tell if its bad or good other then buying a new spring?

Same thing happened to me when I was a super n00b. I'm 99% positive its your wastegate actuator.

try doing a boost leak test.

Just got it to stop, it was suprisingly the boost gauge, maybe the vacum had a tear in it, either way, no more spike =)

I highly doubt anyone will actually see this but I have to try. I recently started getting boost spikes and I have no idea why. I normally run at 22lbs and even when I get down on it it never quite reaches that high. Now, without even trying, I'm hitting damn near 30 lbs. Dont get me wrong, my motor and set up is solid, but if this really is a bad thing, I'd rather fix it.

So can you tell me what exactly it was about your boost gauge that was messed up?
