Hi all, I am new to this DSM scene and to this forum, about two months ago I got a 96 GSX. the car runs great, no skips or idle problems and was quite quick with everything being stock, anyway I put on a Injen IS short ram intake, with high flow filter, and I could hear the air being sucked through it, but was told that it is normal for me to hear the flow of air after the stock airbox came off, I added a boost controller and noticed that no matter where i set it the stock BOV would leak so I removed it and went back to the BCS and no more leak. I purchased a HKS SSQV put it on and kept the BCS connected (no boost controller) and now the car launches like crazy every time I give it some gas, so last night I connected a boost guage to see what is happening and even when I half gas it the psi hits 20 real quick then drops off continuously as the rpm increases, when the gear switches the guage hits 20psi again and drops off again. It is an automatic. The car still idles fine and drives fine just has way too much boost for the stock setup. I checked and rechecked all my vacuum lines that go to the BCS, for now I am trying not to boost it but it is hard not to. Don't get me wrong I love the way it launches but I know It can't be good for the motor. from what I am reading here it sounds like spiking but I have no clue really what to do about it. I just bought an AEM wideband and will hook it up asap but I have read enough here to know that if it hits 20psi then it must be running lean with stock injectors. Any Ideas?
