Hi all, I am new to this DSM scene and to this forum, about two months ago I got a 96 GSX. the car runs great, no skips or idle problems and was quite quick with everything being stock, anyway I put on a Injen IS short ram intake, with high flow filter, and I could hear the air being sucked through it, but was told that it is normal for me to hear the flow of air after the stock airbox came off, I added a boost controller and noticed that no matter where i set it the stock BOV would leak so I removed it and went back to the BCS and no more leak. I purchased a HKS SSQV put it on and kept the BCS connected (no boost controller) and now the car launches like crazy every time I give it some gas, so last night I connected a boost guage to see what is happening and even when I half gas it the psi hits 20 real quick then drops off continuously as the rpm increases, when the gear switches the guage hits 20psi again and drops off again. It is an automatic. The car still idles fine and drives fine just has way too much boost for the stock setup. I checked and rechecked all my vacuum lines that go to the BCS, for now I am trying not to boost it but it is hard not to. Don't get me wrong I love the way it launches but I know It can't be good for the motor. from what I am reading here it sounds like spiking but I have no clue really what to do about it. I just bought an AEM wideband and will hook it up asap but I have read enough here to know that if it hits 20psi then it must be running lean with stock injectors. Any Ideas?

In the line from the IM to the fuel pressure solenoid on the firewall, besides the effect in performance can be felt so I have ruled out the guage. What it feels like is the wastegate opens late and then doesn't close on time, could the stock bcs cause the wastegate to do that?

my gst with a slightly fried ecu goes up to 20 psi too..when its not acting up or bogging and i tap the gas pedal it takes off like its heavy boosted, you have NO clue how many times i take off at a light and have some one either right behind or in the opposite lane take off and try to race me....

so far 2 mustangs claim they beat me at a race...(hazzard lights and im not even racing)

and three hondas and 1 integra did the same thing on a main street....

a SRT4

Rx7..........and out of those cars one Honda civc si and the Srt4 got pulled over by high way patrol when they thought i was trying to race them.....:|

back on topic.......check your wastgate but try installing the BC back on and set psi at 11 or less......i heard the T25 can be pushed to 15 psi safetly but idk thats just research could be false research....
