Well I went down to home depot the other day, and assembled my home made leak tester for 4 dollars, qreat vfaq, once I hooked it up I ran 20 psi through it, and it leaked out of my blow off valve profusely, and from my intake (where the J part joins the plenium). Both the blow off valve and the intake manifold wouldn't hold even 5 lbs. About the blow off valve, I didn't do any thing to it to make it lock up I just left it the way it was, is there a way to make it hold pressure that I wasn't doing? And for the intake mani, same thing, was there some thing I was doing wrong, or should I replace the gaskets, there was alot of grime (probly from fuel) or some thing leaking around the intake manifold, any suggestions on how to remove the intake mani and a place to find new gaskets. thanks.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "where the J part meets the plenum." Do you mean the throttle body elbow?

That has a gasket; thake it off and replace the gasket, with light RTV use.

In a lot of cases, the BOV flange leaks. You need to be a little more specific about what is leaking though. If it is the BOV flange, you can pull the BOV off, clean it and the flange, and re seal it. You need to apply RTV carefully, especially to the holes where the bolts go into the flange. Make sure to let it dry overnight.

Hope this helps.

okay, I think it is the throttle body. Does it have like a black electronic selenoid or some thing attached to the front side of it? If so, that is where it seems to be leaking from, there or the gaskets i can't really tell.

Can I find gaskets at autozone?
What is trv?
And the bov was leaking through the dump pipe. Is that what its supposed to do? How do it lock the bov so that it holds pressure?

Well as far as the BOV if it is still the stock 2G one then it will leak at 13-14 psi no matter what. It's just not strong enough to hold more pressure. As far as the throttle body there are shaft seals in there but they are a pain in the ass to replace and require taking the throttle body apart and taking the old O rings to ACE and matching em up since Mitsu doesn't sell them.

don't jump to the conclusion that it's the intake manifold. the seals on injectors tend to leak after a while. try moving the injectors around when you do the test and listen for the sound to change.
