Boost leak question

I did a boost leak today for the first time after my winter build. Found no leaks, however there was a gurgling sounds coming from my oil pan, sounded like oil bubbling. is this okay, or do i have a problem?? If so, what might it be? Compression was checked, it is good

This is normal if you performed the boost leak test on the turbo inlet. Move the test to the IC pipes or the throttle body elbow and you shouldn't hear anymore gurgling.

As a good general rule of thumb you want to start the test at the TB elbow and work your way back to the turbo from there.

The gurgling is boost leak test air leaking past the compressor seal, down the turbo oil return tube, and into the oilpan where it bubbles to the surface. Atleast that's my understanding of it.

I start testing at the compressor inlet because I don't expect any leaks (fixed them in the recent past). If I can't hold pressure, I'd move to the IC inlet (my UICP replaces the TB elbow).

But I agree that you might want to start at the TB elbow if you've not done a test ever or in a long time.
