Boost Gauge Question

I have a 13b in my Auto TSi AWD. After i installed the boost gauge and freed up the wastegate "it was stuck". i took it out for a run and hit 20 psi? At the time it didnt have a MBC . I got the controller the next day and turned it down to about 16-17. My question is, if the car was stock, why would the boost gauge read 20+ psi? Thanks

If the wastegate "was stuck" before, it might have gotten "stuck again." Without proper fuel mods and tuning, turn your boost back some more to around 13-14.

well how exactly do i know if its stuck? can i open it with my hand or do i need pliars to test to see if its stuck? i just guessed it was stuck last time:\ its really messing with my head

If you've turned your boost down and everything is fine, there is nothing to worry about.

well my question really doesnt hvae anything to do with the MBC. it has to do with the whole fixing the wastegate thing and the gauge reading 20 psi. it that possible?

If it was reading 20 psi it's possible that it was stuck.

If it's fine now, there's nothing to worry about.
