So I got my digital led boost gauge in the mail and I wanted an "OEM style" location that was in view with the other gauges but didn't want to sacrifice daily functionality. So me and a good friend proceeded to disassemble the center dash piece as well as the bezel around the gauge cluster to gain access to the components within. We then removed the assembly that the heater controls were attached to and cut it so the boost gauge would fit in it. We then rerouted the heater controls so that the positions selector cable is in its OEM position and the temp selector cable was routed to the position of the air vent open/close knob. We routed the cable for the open/close vent to the glove box where it is still usable as well as easily accessible. We also had to dreml some of the drivers side heater vent material out for the rear of the gauge to clear it. We then wired up the gauge and reassembled it to have the finished product seen below. Once my buddy buys his 1g we will post an install how to thread with pix. Input from the community is greatly appreciated. I later plan to buy a second knob assembly and adapt the cables and fab a panel so I have the heater control above my CD player and gauges in all the knob slots from my heater for an OEM look with aftermarket gauges.
