boost gauge at 1hg when cars off??

i sawl a post a while back about someone had the autometer gauges neddle off when the car is off. the neddle sits at 1 or 2 hg when the car is off. It used to get 18hg at idle now i gets 20hg, and it boosts to 10-11psi i was sure i had it set a little higher. does anyone know if autometer warrenties anything. or if anyone can point me in the direction of the same post somewhere.

I remember this post also...and im not too sure if the gauges are warrantied or not. Maybe try calling the place you bought it from, or im sure autometer has a customer service line of some sort.

thanks yah i'll guess i'll try calling up autometer. i bought the gauge off of dsmtrader.com. it was working fine for a while then one day it was just off and never went back to 0.

This same exact thing happened to me so when you find out you should let me know as i bought my gauges off trader as well let me know

autometer boost guages are, for lack of a better phrase, cheaply made.
thats how all autometer boost guages are, on some days it might sit at 2 or 3 vacume, and others it might be at 1 or 2 boost. either way our boost reading is off, which will obviously make it difficult to tune. only real solution is to get a better boost guage, that actually gives a consistant accurate reading.

if you dont want to shell out the money for anything expensive, get a vdo guage. it might not look as good as some flashy colored autometer guage, but they come stock in german cars, and some aircraft, and are a very reliable and accurate guages.
i have a vdo boost in my car, and all my other guages are autometer cobalt, and a sport comp air/fuel. might not match, or have pretty colors and lights, but i would rather have an accurate reading, since my car is by no means a show car, its just fast.
