I am having trouble building 40psi on my hx40. I was able to build 30psi with the 7lb spring in my wastegate. I added an additional 10lb spring and it still won't make 40psi. I'm running the ingersol solenoid from ecmlink and using both ports on the gate. Makes it to 37 by 5500rpm and then drops all the way to 29 by 8000rpm. Is this normal? I'm only seeing 61lb/min airflow so I shouldn't have the turbo maxed out yet as I thought this turbo would do close to 70. I will be doing a blt tomorrow hopefully to see if that could be the culprit, but thought i'd get on here and see what you guys thought.

Do you have link and could you upload a log?

Sorry for the long delay but here is a log. It's not perfect but it shows what i'm talking about.

If you're using the .55 BEP housing then your airflow numbers seem about right- if you're on the .70 T3 housing, they're a bit on the low side.

Definitely do a boost leak test- many guys report leaks around the compressor cover, but I can't see that limiting your boost production to that degree.

I have the t3.70 bep. My air compressor died before i could do the blt, so i have to get over to a buddy's house to use his. You do agree I should be able to make more airflow and boost though right? It builds decently fast but just dies up top. Is it possible that something is wrong with the turbo itself? My oil pressure sending unit died that i use to monitor turbo oil psi, but before it died it held 40 psi under boost.

Got to an air compressor, turbo feels great. However I have a massive leak around the t-body, could be shaft seals but kinda feels like it's around the fiav or isc. I couldn't build more than 15psi. I'm gonna get a cap to block off the coupler that goes to the t-body so i can just pressurize the turbo, ic, and piping to make sure i'm good there and then tackle the t-body leak. Hopefully i can make more boost once i get this issue resolved.
