Edmonton,
trying to figure out a mind boggling dsm, it has an air filter, boost gauge, boost controller, and an aftermarket muffler, with stock piping.

my question is why is it not hitting boost cut??? it holds 18lb, on race gas, and on 91 octane, without detonation, or boost cut, what could have been done to eliminate boost cut?? i know that all the fuel lines and the pump has not been touch, everything is completly stock except for the little things i listed above, any help would be helpfull, since this has been bothering me for a while, its a 90 fwd turbo laser.

I would like to know what "boost cut" is.

Also, the setup you are describing has the psi set a little high, but its possible it will run ok like that for a while. I have a few more mods than you (no fuel mods) and have ran 18 psi for given amounts of time without problems.

boost cut is almost the same as fuel cut, the car i am describing is one at my work, i cant figure out why its not hitting boost cut, every talon i have seen hits boost cut at around 15 psi, this thing was running 18psi, on 91 octane, with no cut or anything, i'm gonna datalog it on monday, cuase i think there is something to do with the air count, but dont know if the log will tell me. thats why im trying to figure this out

when the mafs reads a certain amount of air comming in it will make the injectors hit 100% duty cycle(100% pulse) so what you do to fix this is make it not read that amount of air.

you can either not make that amount of air: turn the boost down

or you can trick the ecu into thinking there is less air: get a fuel managment system and trick the ecu into thinking their is less air comming in, but by doing this you are gonna lean it out and melt shit, so you need to get either increased fuel pressure or bigger injectors, i recomend doing both and tricking it alot and running 20+ psi.

good luck, for now you should turn the boost down
