so after gettin help from a bunch of ppl for hooking up my profec b, it doesnt work i know the lines are hooked up right. but no matter what setting i have it on, it doesnt affect boost psi at all. and it cant get past about 8 psi.

ya i know its not the boost gauge. i was thinking about gettin a new controller but thats like $300 for a good new one. before the controller it would get closer to 1kg/cm (14.7psi) but still not quite.

Thats why i would stick to manual boost controllers.... :) The slowboyracing one is looking good right now..Only 49.99. Although i met with a fellow dsmer from this forum and he said he would make me one for 8 bucks.. Cant beat that..

so anyone have any other ideas before i trash this controller and get a new one?
Did you buy the EBC brand new? Without more information about how it was hooked up, I've gotta conclude it's probably a bad controller.

the previous owner had it but wasnt hooked up. the unit with the knobs is tapped into the fuel pressure line. the "in" on the solenoid is tapped into the line between the bov and intake manifold. the "out" goes to the wastegate and is also tapped for the alcohol injection pressure sensor. the alcohol injection is not currently working but i dont tihnk that has an effect on the boost controller at all and i have good vaccum pressure.

edit: hmm now that i think about it, i think the one going to the wastegate also is going to the LICP. i will have to look to make sure. but if thats how it is. thats my problem right? i should tap the "in" and alcohol injection pressure line from that and the "out" to only the wastegate.

The "OUT" line from the EBC should only go to the wastegate, nothing else.

ok thats what i thought. ill check it out later and thats how it is +rep for you for making me think of that.

ok so i was smarter then i thought. that vacuum line is only goin to the wastegate....now what

Go burn $10 or so at Home Depot building a MBC using this VFAQ.
Hook it up exactly like the EBC, and see if you can control boost levels with it. That'll tell you if your EBC has shit the bed.

For internal wategate install run the vacuum hoses like this:

COM on the solenoid should go to the wastegate. NO should go to the nipple on the compressor housing on the turbo or from a different source.

i dont have a spec 2. i just have a profec b but the IN is tapped between bov and intake mani, OUT goes to the wastegate
