boost and prob diag!!!

just wondering guys what is safe boost for my car...i have a mbc , stock fpr, 190 fuel pump...have it at 10 lbs right now...also when i upgraded my o2 housing my 14b had alot of exhaust side shaft play..could that be the cause of the blue/black smoke?? just rebuilt motor...compression is 165 across..its the stock turbo with 150k...any help would be great...thanks

yep.. you are buring oil from the turbo... take it off and rebuild it.. they are SUPER easy to rebuild.. you can have the shaft cleaned, micro polished, and balanced for around $50-80... then the rebuild kit is like 120 from slowboy... I think... It takes about 20 minutes to slap one back together and they work great.. an oil seal went out and it looks like a bearing did too...

here is what to do.. really, do it yourself... its easy...

as for your boost, you can go up to 15 psi on that turbo and mods, but you need to datalog it to make sure you are not knocking.. I has mine at 15, and it knocked something horrible (stock fuel pump), but at 12, I was kosher... no knock...
