i was headin home when out of nowhere my motor just cuts out the boost was low and i wasn't pushin it when i pulled over i didn't notice or hear any leaks everything was hooked up like it always is so when i tried to take off it cut again as soon as my boost hit 1 psi and everytime the boost went up it cut right as the boost was building let me know what you think.

are you saying it hit fuel cut when you tried to build boost, or the engine completely cut off, or you just stop building boost, if you just can't build boost it would more than likely be your turbo went out, or a huge boost leak occured...to be honest with you, you'd have to specify whats happened a little bit more, its kinda hard to diagnose a problem over the internet w/o farely vivid detail.

Have you done a boost leak test? Everyone who owns a turbo car should do one at some time.

Correction, you should do one whenever you feel like your loosing power or whenever the car seems to be running differently. I mean its a DSM, but if your modding it, doing BLT's should become a normal thing, i would say do one EVERY MONTH. Just to check things over, nothing wrong with putting in a couple mins out of a day to check the car over.

On another note if you cant boost past 1psi, its either a leak or some sort of misfire most likely. Its not even getting enough air to boost at all...sounds like a leak to me.

well i'll have to do a boost leak and check for a misfire thanks for the info i'll tryboth of them out.

i checked all the hoses and did a press. test no real leaks but now the cuts still happen when the car is warmed up and the boost starts to build it stuters my a/f says im runnin right but the car still stutters any ideas????

When was the last time you changed the plugs & wires? What about the fuel filter?

What were the last mods done to the car before this started happening? Is the car stock?

I'm guessing the temps haven't dropped too dramatically considering your location.

i have a home made one and pumped it up to 15psi and waited but nothing rely new. the pulgs are about 2 and a half months the wires are about 3yrs old and the fuel filter is about to be 2yrs old. the only thing that was touched before it started to go wrong was the bov nut that holds the screw was loose so i tightened it and a dayish later it started happening it's a greedy type-s i think the one with the purple top. and we're chillin in the low 80's down here.

Fuel filter 2 years old? I usually change the fuel filter every year, I mean it's only $15ish at your local auto parts store and is pretty easy to do. I would change the wires as well, I do wires almost every year now, NGK's are good for their money, they're about $38 online, while your doing wires drop in some new NGK plugs as well.

yeah i'm doin everything this weekened hope fully it's nothing major and this tune up every thing goes away thanks for the info
