im still new to the dsm worl but i would like to know what you have to do for certain mods. My car is a 95 tsi FWD and i have a brand new motor stock crank h beems and some good aftermarket pistons all balanced 1g turbo 1g BOV full 3" exhaust cold air intake walboro 255 in tank fuel pump 1g throttle body fidanza aluminum flywheel and ram stage 3 clutch. i would eventually like to do the atmosphere dump BOV and would like to know whats needed to do it and was curious about the atmosphere dump waste gates whats the gain/losses of either. Whats a good way to tune my car whats the best bang for your buck and user friendly fuel tuner? what size injectors would be good for a setup like this? thanks ahead of time for all your inputs

Sub A) All these question are answerable if you had SEARCHED

A) WTF is a RAM stage 3 clutch?

B) Atmospheric dump BOV is not something you should TRY to attain. It requires a post BOV MAF (GM maf, which I would not recommend, they are inaccurate) or speed density, which is not easy to tune, and not for the faint of heart or newbie.

C) Dumping your wastegate is something you should do ONLY if you can tolerate a very LOUD un-muffled exhaust tone every time you hit full boost. Also, Dumping your gate is really necessary only when your exhaust diameter is the same as your turbine discharge. Until that point, recirculate.

D) DSMlink is the best bang for your buck tuning system available for DSM's. PERIOD

E) OEM 450's are good for an OEM turbocharger. When you upgrade to a 16g, then you need to start worrying about injectors.

I like stage 3 clutches ive got a zoom but i bet ram stage 3 is an ebay or offbrand.
I have a blitz super sound bov with gm maf and it sounds awesome
I also have an atmospheric o2 dump and its pretty loud. If you go about half throttle it amplifies the turbo spool sound alot but when you reach your max boost it dumps straight and almost sounds like straight exhaust. IMO i love it but i have gotten pulled over for loud exhaust before so....
I strongly agree with dsmlink, its awesome
Save up some money and go with dsmlink and 1050 injectors if you plan on running alot of boost

With your 255 you need to put on an AFRP as you are over running the stock FPR. As said above E MLink is the best tuning option that you can go with but you need a 95 EPROM ECU.

Speed density or a GM MAF in blow through mode are the only two ways to properly vent yor BOV. If you have emissions then keep your wastegate recirculated as it's classified as an exhaust leak pre cat.

Follow the upgrade path located in the tech guide in the upper left corner of the screen. Use the search button and do some research before posting these questions.

I'll say it before a mod does.

Use proper spelling and grammar. Firefox has built in spell check and you can download the IESpell plugin for Explorer. You also need to change your avatar to your car. Rules are posted everywhere so take heed to them.

not entirely true. but considering he already has a 95 chances are pretty good that he already has an Eprom, so ECMlink would be less of a headache and probably easier to tune with.

to all you people who wanna be by the book. I read all the bolt on tech section and did search for a few different things but wanted it explained better. Maybe you should read this which is stated in the reply box!

to those of you who where helpful thanks. i have seen that people use the gm 3" maf but you have to have a maf translator right? and have to have the ecm link? how do i tell if my computer is eprom or not and where do i get the best deal on the ecmlink hardware and software? my car is running very lean the 255 isnt overrunning my stock fpr it is doing its job just fine but im going to get and aftermarket before i buy injectors but would like to start the learning curve of tuning and would like to know the best way. thanks you all for all your help.
and here is the page to ram clutches i use them in my hot rods they seem a good bang for the buck

if you vent your bov to the atmosphere yes you will need a maft. but if you get dsmlink just set the maft for the injjector size and put it away because you wont need it anymore. pull the side panel off under the radio there is the ecu. pull it out and. If it has an "E" on the sticker on the case its prob eprom. I think a primer grey color ecu is non-eprom and a gold color is eprom. If you still dont know you could open it up with 4 screws, do a quick google on what one eprom ecu looks like and compare the two. If it is eprom you are gonna want to send it to the place you buy dsmlink or buy a socket yourself and install it yourself. Installing it yourself will save around 30 dollars but if cant solder dont bother. Ecmlink (dsmlink) is basically the same price at all places, i ordered mine at maperformance.
If youre getting injectors get some large ones so you'll never have to buy any again, but then you'll need a afpr.

ok so i have the gold computer with eprom. i have one issue though the scan tool i use is a 2010 matco determinator and for some reason it wont scan my car? i have checked for the proper hot wires using identifix and they all seem good. i dont know what the deal is i went to a junk yard and borrowed another 95 tsi computer and it wont scan it either? i dont want to go out and buy the dsmlink and it not connect anyone ran into this problem? also whats the best package i noticed they have three different options. thanks again.

more like $8200 its my friends they have a shop.LOL so the dsmlink lite should do me fine then? i noticed the full version has gm maf translations built in and idle air simulation. is that to get rid of the aidle air control for an after market throttle body? i have all these questions upfront because i plan on going pretty far with my car ive already started building a smim that i would like to put an aftermarket throttle body on if thats what that does and i also noticed the full version has " Auto-scaled, RPM-based fuel adjustments" that would basically be like rough tuning it and the computer learning right?

thanks dsmdeliveryboy i enjoyed reading all that it was helpful. the motor is brand new all new everything so maintenance is good and im mostly through the stage one. how user friendly is dsmlink?

Ok I have a question then...I had a 14b boosting 15psi. now I have a 16g and I plan on still running 15psi. Do I still have to upgrade my injectors an fuel pump and fpr? My fuel system is stock right now.
