I think a stock 1g looks fine just the way it is but if anything get a lip or convert to the 2gb eclipse complete with skirts and the wing and that'll look nice as well.

Uhm, I don't think anyone on this forum is rich enough to do a 1gb to 2gb convert... Thats kinda like molding a Sphere into a Block... its just not right. Completely different chassis. Nothing on body is swapable without THOUSANDS of dollars.

Also, I highly doubt you'll find that lip off of a car at a junk yard. Its off of a 2001-2003 Protege. And its not stock, Its a reallllly expensive Dealer Aftermarket Item. I am however, still awaiting the response from the guy that says he can ship them out for 160, 100+ less then Dealer.

Well... Honestly, I appreciate everybody's opinion on the subject. You've all given me a numerous ammount of ideas. Some good, some not so good. I really like the lip kit. I was never really wanting to kit my car. I just needed some input on what everyone else thinks. I like how the 1g's look but wanted to do a little more. So I guess I'll just put some Tien Coilovers, 5Zigen's, remove the stock spoiler, FMIC and exhaust. The just be done with the appearance, after paint of course. But thanks again.

The 1gs look sexy stock just lower it throw some 17s on it and polish it maybe paint the calipers and buy a front mount. If you still want to mess with the looks of the car tint the windows. Body kits are a pain in the ass mine came with one and the dumbasses molded the rear bumper to car so i am selling it and i dont feel like messing with it.

just so you know, the front air dam for the 2001+ protege has been discontinued. if you find ANY, i would buy it regardless of the price. (if you want one that bad)

So I guess were outta luck. Even tho Mazda found it avail... But 3 bills to purchase and ship. I Personally would set my car on fire before I installed or let anyone install a body kit on it. So I will not be giving up on the lip kit idea. I will have that lip! Even if I have to steal it off of someone's car!

I've found a website that doesn't say whether they're in stock or not, but I was able to successfully get to the billing information page so unless they are going to tell me after I pay them, they should have them. :]

You have to fill out the vehicle info it seems, so I used Mazda Protege 2001 with a VIN I found on Google. This also was the cheapest I've found so far. I'll try it out in a few months once I get my suspension/wheels/brakes all finished :thumb:

Based upon the picture I don't think it is, but at the following page to place the order you choose the vehicle, so I believe it's just a generic picture to be displayed. I eventually will look into the lip (Call the dealer, etc.), just to verify it's the right part, seeing as the Part Number matches up.

If anyone else gets to it first though, let us know :thumb:

MAZDA Tells me the same crap, that its still available. But I'm afraid that when I pay 300 bucks for the damn thing, They are going to tell me its actually discontinued.

MAZDA just told me right now, on the phone that P/N 0000-86-C01-00 shows 53 across the United States. However the price is WAY more then I thought originally, 375 bucks Shipped! And you can get it directly from Mazda. Locally they have non, but they are going to order me one from a dealership in Texas. This is one PRICY Freaking lip. However if I get one, who on here would I have to go through, to get it remanufactured for the DSM Community???

And then maybe I can make some of that 375 bucks back, if not all of it for providing it to you guys...

There is a guy around where I live that does fiberglass parts for cars. I was goin to see how much it would cost to make me a lip, but I dont want fiberglass. I am not sure if he can do eurathane or not but I can ask him if you get that lip.

Someone should start a poll for 1g lips. I saw a while back there was hope to have some made but I guess it went no where. I would be interested in one made out of Carbon Fiber. If a vendor would charge $250.00 for the Lip, they would still be making decent profits if 30 or so would buy

figure i would reiterate since i got an infraction for saying my car is faster then someones (apparently thats a personal attack). my car is perfectly done. the body kit is seamless, there are no body lines except on front bumper and the body kit is extremely mild, it could be a factory kit. in addition to that, my car is faster then most everyone who feels the need to insult my personal design style. just becuase you perosnally dont like a style, you dont need to go out and make sure we all know that you dont approve of exterior modifications, or disprove of people who do. we dont care, we build the car to our liking because we can and we want to, not to get your approval. want to give your opinion? be respectful about it, say its not your style.

Oh Shat it! So what if someone called your car slow, why do you have to go crying about it? I usually get told that all the time, even by people that I've smoked. But I don't go out crying about it. So just chill out and forget what whoever said whatever.

That's the problem with people asking for opinions... when they get the one back they don't want to hear, they get all butthurt.

If you like what you did, don't ask for people's opinions.
If you want to know what people think, don't expect everyone to say "That's a great idea, go for it!"

It's just the internet and cars people....
