Maybe some of you can help me decide on the right body kit.?.?. I am looking for a smaller kit that doesn't look bulky as hell. All the kits I have found look to massive. I was hoping for jus a small ground effects kit. The car is lowered and the stock ground effects just aren't cutting it for me. Tell me what you think.WTF

where would i find a lip kit though. i'm new to the whole dsm scene. my first car (which i still own) is a '66 Galaxie with a big block 390. not a lot of aftermarket cosmetic work can be done to that.

clean stock looking 1gb talon =sexy as hell
1gs really don't look good with a body kit.

Stick with the stock look... the body kits for the 1gs all look like catfish or something...

I had a splitter on the the front of my 92 talon... looked really good IMO.
But it took a little custom "fabrication"

I'm with the both of you. I'm WILLING to purchase the lip, and ship it to a place that can do it in Eurthane/Fiberglass or Urethane to have reproduced. I'm sure if they made 50 of them, and charged a good normal price like 150 to 200 shipped, they would have them sold to all of us quick.

I havn't seen a good looking body kit for a 1G ever. Get a front mount intercooler, cut the front bumper for more airflow, and get exhaust, that's how you make a 1G look better :thumb:

But if you're dead-set on aero, I agree trying to find a lip for your 1G and call it a day.

I disagree about cutting the bumper...
I've seen a few people do it and look good, but a lot of people just hack and leave it. I dunno, it ends up looking a little trashy.
Truthfully, if I was thinking about cutting it, I'd make sure it looked finished too. Not many people do that, which is why I hate when people hack their bumpers.

Leave the stock body alone! Maximum, get a lip from a Mazda Protege 4DR, Non MasdaSpeed. I'm doing the Protege Lip, except doing it up nicer so it doesn't look like a Jay Leno Chin.

go with a lip, unless you're really trying to stand out. Don't let anyone tell you "don't" do something. It's your car and whatever makes you happy is the goal. I personally think body kits make cars have a poor style, but again that one opinion within millions.

I agree as well, that lip does look good. I've been searching for lips for my 90 Talon with no luck. What mods has to be done to the lip to make it work? And last, what exactly is it made for? Thanks, things are looking good now.

That lip is off like a 99 Mazda Protoge. The 4dr. Not the Speed with the huge round foglights, the LX. It will bolt right up, except it needs to be extended on each end about an inch. How that guy did it is mounted it to the front and then pulled it up to the stock bumper line, so it isn't really level.

Ok, I'm actually about to order one.
$260 + shipping. (P/N 0000-86-C01-00)

I found someone on a Mazda Forum selling them for $160 Shipped. I have dispatched an email to him asking about him acquiring more. Maybe if he could get a few I could bulk order them for some DSM Guys.

InfiniteGsx, thanks for the info. I am thinking this would be the best bet over mounting splitters under my cover. Keep us posted on how you make out.

That honestly looks really good. I would go out and pick one up too, except I'll wait wait a week until everyone who saw this forum has already purchased theirs and I can find one again... LOL

No, I won't be, I love my 1g aero, but it does look really good.

You came to the wrong site to ask about a bodykit.
Apparently it isnt cool to have one on your car.
Do what you want to do, its your car. Build it for you, screw everyone else.

I think a stock 1g looks fine just the way it is but if anything get a lip or convert to the 2gb eclipse complete with skirts and the wing and that'll look nice as well.

Whether you buy a kit or use the stock one the thing I always ask is what can I do to make it functional and better than stock! I pulled the air dam plugs from the front clip and installed air tubes to cool the the front brakes. My RS has a lot of rust and front clip damage from the pot holes and daily driving in snow and rain. Use your talent and ideas, get them from on-line or from friends to make it your own. I don't care what anyone else thinks as long as it works and it performs its job as intended. The idea that you buy and install a kit someone else has is okay. But, what if you modified the new body kit and found new places to install the fog lights and add other functional accessories. The sky is the limit!

I like that lip from the protege. Let us know if you can get more, I have been lookin for a lip for my 1g and all that I have been able to find is lips from euro cars.

To the OP I'm not a big fan of bodykits on any car, but I have seen some kits that are clean looking. But as for finding a decent kit for a 1g wont be easy. All the kits that I have seen are really bulky.

I'm going to look in the junk yards around here for that lip..You should look in your local junk yard.

I might like it on my car, when I change the color.. Ahh isn't that lip nice..

Good paint, a nice large FMIC, a NICELY cut front bumper and a custom made splitter will always look a million times better on a 1g than any body kit.

If you must though, the lip from that MP doesn't look half bad honestly.
