has anyone ever retrofitted with bmw headlights? im asking this because i want to know if a full bmw headlight system would have everything necesarry to run properly on our cars. like would i need extra relays or anything? and for those that have done it, how did it turn out?

Here's my m3 projector/4300k HID retrofit:

It was a VERY big job, lots of cutting measuring. I actually had to take apart the hella projectors and rebuild them into the chrome shrouds that the headlights came with. If you do a retrofit, I would recommend different projector housing, since these are a nightmare to work with. I think someone did a step by step tutorial on retrofitting A6 projectors into gen1 projector headlights. Try a search.

im doing the exact thing and need a little assistance...how do you know what top and bottom is with the BMW projectors? and what exactly did you use to mount the projectors in the housing? please help me out with a lot of detail here and if you have any photos that would be awesome im struggling here and need some MAJOR help. thanks!!

Well the cutoff shield needs to be on top, and to mount the projectors you will need to fabricate something to hold them in. And as far as having everything, you will need 2 projectors, 2 ballasts, and 2 bulbs. Then you have to make everything connect.

see i thought that too but the h3 little dinky projector that came in the headlight assy. had the cutoff at the bottom...doesnt the concave lense flip the lighting? thats what im not sure of. I have the ballasts, headlights, bulbs, and projectors....I just need help getting them all together. thanks

You're right, now that I think about it. My fault. And there is a thread a little ways up that has a guide.
