Do it yourself HID's are terrible and in some states illegal. It has been done, but they don't provide a nice crisp cut-off line like real HID's, so you're going to be blinding all the drivers.

You can retro fit a set of HIDs in your stock housing. I think a few people have done that, dont have time to pull up the page but there is a how to on here somewhere. You have to get HIDs either from a site online or from an audi or beamer and take the whole projector out and put it in your current housing. If no one has posted page I'll find it when i get back from work.

if you can find it that would be a ton of help.. thanks !! :rocks:

That Ebay link is for halogen housings, it will look like shit and blind everyone.

If you really want HID's, get a spare headlight and a HID projector. Start playing around with mounting it. You might be able to come up with something usefull unlike those aweful replacement kits.

ebay link: notice how he takes the pic first to left of the headlight, then after is in front of the light so you think your'e getting a good deal but it's mainly just camera position, I'm also thinking about getting HID lights, I put in 9006 lights in my low beams and I can't see shi*, also, I have a 93 laser, anyone know why the dims stay on when I turn on the brights?

Have a set of 6000K HID's( Real HID's with ballast , not fake bulbs) on my car with the ebay 92-94 clear headlight, it look awsome and light the road 100000X better than stock. PLus I never had someone to complain I was blinding them , just gotta angle them right.

OEM HID bulbs are 4100K bulbs. Anything over that is fake, and completely pointless. Your 6000K bulbs are simply coated, just like all the other ebay bulbs out there. I also see that you used a halogen housing. Your setup might look cool, but go the extra few steps and really use the lighting system to it's full potential... please? For us poor people that you are now blinding.

Nice looking car though.

Please when you don't know what yor talking about , don't say anything. Yes its not the best to put HID in halogen , but if aimed properly it s allright.

Also my bulb aren't coated and are REAL HID's , and are THIS KIT

But thanks for the comment

Take a picture of your bulbs for me... prove me wrong. Are your "HID's" in the inner or outer section of the headlight?

I think I do know what I am talking about. Who makes the bulbs in the kit.. Osram-Sylvania or Philips? It is true that they make 5400K and 5800K (marketed at 6000K Ultinon) bulbs, but
they go for almost as much as your entire kit. Hmmm. I see 10000000000K bulbs all the time that are simply coated, which gives you LESS lumens (light output), but the "cool" colour.

Those two companies are THE manufacturers of bulbs to buy. In your kit, I see no mention of brand name for bulbs or ballasts. It makes me wonder.

"Yes its not the best to put HID in halogen , but if aimed properly it s all right." Our opinion of "all right" must differ. This is not "all right" to me:

Not the design intent for such a great lighting system. Your lights are VERY blue and look strikingly similar to a shitty 8000K system like as shown above

This is how it should be.

I know all that , and know my bulbs aren't coated , so I wont undo all the wiring just to prove someone in NJ that they aren't coated...got nothing to prove there.

Also the picture you took im my gallery was the first kit I bought wich was 10000K wich I was stupid to buy and thats why I now have a 6000K kit wich i less blue and got more lumen output.

As for the positioning of the bulbs, look at this link and youll see where the bulbs go , I have the same headlight.

Light I got

From now on I'll stop argueing with you, we all know you know it all :shhh:

What does wiring have to do with taking a picture? An exterior shot would suffice. If they are two different kits then I believe that your new one could have a clear bulb.

Yeah, I know all... right. Don't call me out when a little research can reveal a lot of info.

You seem to get the gist of what I am saying, but don't make that kit look like something its' not. Besides, I am pretty sure a set of silver stars look just as white as your HID's.. for only $50 :D

I tought you wanted to have a picture of the bulbs, thats why , and if you want a picture of the headlight with bulb just look 4 post higer , last pics.

You can clearly see the crappy blue bulb in the high beam cuz its reflecting blue

That's what threw me. The pic clearly shows coated bulbs, yet you were swearing up and down they weren't.

For the price of the kit, I highly doubt they are using the Ultinon bulb. I am intriqued as to how they get that colour.. their claimed 6000K..without at least some subtle tinting. BMW, Audi and so on get their charactoristic blue/purple/what-have-you from the projector lens and housing design.

But enough is enough. This isn't helping this guy very much.

Cant we all just get along. Wheres the guy who said he would post before? I'm intrigued.
