So I came across a car that has a 2.3 stroker motor with a 7bolt eagle crank, manley i-beam rods and weisco pistoms. car also has a built head with bc 280 cams full bc valvetrain ect ect.. Its got a full exhaust with bullseye turbo BUT it's "blown up"...I think it ran out of oil and they siezed the motor. I want to buy the car but would anything be salvageable if it's siezed up?

My intention was to put anything salvageable into my car.

It all depends on how bad the damage is... It would have to be taken apart and inspected.

Thing is, I went to look at the car when it was owned by the person who built it, something was wrong with it in the head and it leaked A LOT of oil. I test drove it, it ran fine. No smoke, nothing. But he told me it leaked a lot of oil and something needed fixed. he wanted like 5500 for it though. now through a series of events another person bought it/blew it up and sold it. Now a third person owns it and is selling it cheap.

If you gut tells you its bad then its probably bad. my advice would be to look for another unless you want to take a chance to see what you can salvage

I wouldnt want to buy someone elses problem. For all you know that kid could have built that motor in his basement and had no clue what he was doing. He could have put in a bs eliminator kit and not sealed up a hold properly and you could have a leak from there. You really dont know unless you bring that motor to a machine shop and have them properly take it apart and inspect it. You could come away with a steal or you could come away with a huge headache and tons of money going to the trash. Unless if you get that motor or car for $500 or less I wouldnt even bother.

I'd pass on that deal. Who is going to spend a ton of money building an engine and not fix an oil leak. It could end up having completely stock internals and/or no salvageable parts.
