I tried replying in another thread on here and posting this on the link forums but no answers. So here is my own thread. I know someone has dealt with this, why no responses??
I just sent out my chip and cable for the V3 upgrade, but when I popped open my ecu, I noticed that one of my ic chips is either bad or going bad. This is a 95 eprom and the ic says ic112 is the one that is split open. Do you know why this would happen yet I don't have any problems driving the car? I used to have idle problems in my stock 97 ecu but fixed it before I put this eprom in, and the 97 ecu is fine. Also what does this ic control, so I can start there? Do you know where I can get another one to replace and what its part number is?

Does it look about like this:

Blown IC driver

I just walked in the door from the showdown, so my brain is fried and I can't look up what that specific IC does. But most (not all) of that row of ICs controls stuff you don't specifically have to have working in order to run the engine.

Well from what I can tell with that picture is several of them are fried, but yes it looks about like that. If it does control the stock bcs or something can I just remove it before it completely blows, because everything seems to work fine now. Either way can I get a part number for a replacement so I can get it repaired before my upgrade comes in?
