So i ended up bending a valve when i jumped timing due to a bad tensioner. anyway I'm pulling the motor apart but my father is convinced i have blow by because i have valve cover pressure. I always have oil leaking out of my oil cap. so these are my symptoms, tell me what you think.

Boost leak test:(from throttle body with PCV capped off) Pressure on Oil cap. Pressure on Dipstick.

Compression 169,170,170, 0 (bent valve) (cold) (DRY)

Compression (Wet-capful of oil) 180, 180, 190.

Ok, so the valve stem seals are supposedly brand new (took it to a machine shop and had the head resurfaced and new seals and re ground valves.) (Felpro Valve seals)

do you think it is my valve stem seals leaking? or is it blow by? the motor only has 10k on the bottom end. (guy i bought it from rebuilt it himself) (Ivanr4g63) <his dsmtuner name.

What do ya think? i don't have access to a leakdown tester but my compression tester can be hooked to my air compressor to pump cylinder up with pressure. I've just had really bad luck with this car. LOL I love dsm's but this car is making me question it.:dsm:

Was the valve already bent when you did this boost leak test?

Hard to answer your question without knowing more.

What is the condition of your PCV and VC breather? How are they hooked up? Any smoke while driving or boosting?

my VC breather is hooked to my intake. My PCV is almost brand new and is hooked up to the intake mani. I have checked it with my air compressor and it doesn't leak. I haven't driven it enough to see smoke or not, but the one time i did drive it i didn't notice any..... The only time i know it smokes is if i let it sit for about 5 mins when its warm idleing. and it MEGA SMOKES. but it's not blue. It's whiteish. but I've got a BRAND NEW HG with ARP studs... soooooooo.. LOL hmm. any more checks i should do?

Hey Grescht, did you ever get this straightened out? Mine is showing the same symptoms. Mine only started doing it once I changed out my leaking oil cap for an Evo VIII one.
