2G Single spring or dual spring valve stem seals

Can anyone tell me the difference and maybe which ones I need? I need to replace mine because mine are leaking, but when I went to buy some, they had single or dual spring ones. Can anyone help me out please.

I've never herd of dual spring seals. But I'm assuming that it is the spring that goes around the seal. They come factory with "single" so I say use single .

I was buying them off of STM, and the drop down said single or dual. Confused me a little bit so thats why I asked. Thank you for your help! I'll just be buying the single then unless someone else responds with a reason not to go with it.

If your head is stock then you will need single. Single spring refers to a majority of DSM cylinder heads with a single spring (either standard or conical/"beehive"). Dual spring is a spring option that can increase spring rate, or the second spring can act as a damper for a larger primary spring.

If you have the valve cover off you can look at the valve springs and see if there is only one coil,

There are two different valve seal sizes do to the inner diameter tolerances of the single vs dual spring.

When your cams dictate whether they need a spring upgrade. What I mean by that is if you upgrade you cams, you need to find out what profile the cams have and find a spring that would be sufficient enough to run them.

There are many upgrade, single springs, dual, beehive(also a single spring and arguably better than dual).
