blinking headlights???

alright i have a 90 tsi and sometimes when my headlights are down and not on they flash? then i turn my headlights on and they come up fine and are not flashing. but they still flash when i put them back down. any suggestions i am completely stumped with this one.

you might be shorting out somewhere check your wires to see fi u have a bare spot on them.

it sounds like it could be a bad fuse, ground, bare wire or any combination of the 3. Your car is 16 years old. Try and look for the fuse first and then trace the wires to see if you have a bare wire or any other issues. Good luck with electrical issues, sometimes its easy to fix but not always.

Im pretty sure its not a fuse. Id say its either a poor ground or most likely a short.
