blew up 7 bolt. Rebuild or Stroker kit?

My 7 bolt blew up on me about three weeks ago (I guess it couldn't handle the abuse of the 60-1) and I'm about to pull it out of the car and inspect the damage in the next week or so. I'm trying to evaluate what the best value rebuild procedure is. The engine is a rebuilt 7bolt that was in the car when I bought it. According to the paperwork the seller provided me the engine only had 5000 miles on it since the rebuild and was built with JE pistons and Crower rods. From the sound of the engine I'm sure that my bearings are toast, however, If it turns out that my rods and pistons are O.K. would I be better off to either; A: turn the crank and get new bearings,
B: Replace the crank or get it nitrided and try and find custom bearings to prevent CW,
C: scrap it and buy a 6 bolt, or D: Stroker kit?
 
well, I think it depends if your going to have the car a lil bit, just go with stroker but in the long run switch to 6 bolt, they're at least 10 times stronger than a 7 seven bolt, a piston rod went on my 7 bolt I just rebuilt it stock cuz its my daily driver and I only spent about 250 bucks rebuilding it
 
#### the stroker, keep it ture 2.0. 6 bolt motor with eagle rods and ross pistons (8:5 or 9:1) if you must have it built.
 
Im thinking about doing a 6 bolt swap instead of a stroker. I found a 6bolt 2.4 engine from a sonata
for cheap, but I also found a 7 bolt 2.4 from a SOHC galant for about half as much as the sonata motor, but either way I'll have to buy pistons, galant cam gears, galant t belt, and have some machine work done. If I go with the more expensive 6 bolt engine I'll also have to replace the flywheel, If I stick with 7bolt I can use the crower rods in my bad 2.0. However the 7bolt might get CW. So which seems like the best option, Stroker kit for existing 2.0 7bolt, 6bolt sonata block/2g head hybrid, or 7 bolt galant/2g head hybrid?
 
I know this is an old thread left to die, but what did you end up doing?

I am in the same situation right now.....I spun a bearing on my 7bolt and now I have to decide what to do.
I also have a six bolt complete Engine from a 95 Sonata, so it's either rebuild the 7bolt or strip the Sonata's 6bolt and use it's block. I still have to do some research on that Sonata's engine as I don't know much about it, as far as what internals it would take and what I can reuse from my 7bolt....and if it bolts right in instead of my 7bolt.

Did you finish your project already???
What set up did you end up going with..?
 
anyone who wants more displacement should just get a bigger block, like the sonata 2.4. Strokers are ### and you run into problems with em. Sonata bolts right onto the tranny perfect, strength is the same as a 4g motor yuou will jus need galant 2.4 timing belt, different cam gears and forged pistons because nobody makes low compression cast pistons for the block.
