I have some FIC injectors and in doing some work on my car I lost one of the little black plasitc rings that go on the head side of the injector(not the seal) I know the stock injectors dont have a piece like that so I put them in with out the little ring. What is that ring for? Do I need it?

If it's not a seal then what is it? Does your injector sit tightly in the intake manifold now?

How about a picture. It's hard to tell if you talking about a pintle cap or the injector insulator.
Most PTE injectors don't have a pintle cap over the end like you find on stock injectors so I'd guess your talking about the insulator that seals between the injector and head but you say it's not a seal. If it is the insulator it's a critical part.

Sorry Steve I know what the insulator is and that is not what this is. They are a little black ring that go on there between the insulator and injector body. I will try to get pics if I can find them.

How did that come off?

I'm pretty sure that the lip of the injector flares out enough that something like that couldn't come off.

Without it I think you might have some issues holding the injector tight.
