Edm,
In regards to a cas, the black top ones are thought to be better because of a better signal. Is there any difference on the ISC's? I have a couple of brown ones, and just grabbed a blacktop one which is out of a newer vehicle (a 94 hyundai I think it was) So just curious if there's any difference in quality.

Well, I have 3 of them and 2 of them I know are bad. It once failed and I had to use a combination of brake and gas and putting it on neutral to keep it from dying on me. I use a black top one now. Much better. I forget all of the info and ohm readings but here is a link to some info on them though.

the black ones are a revised ISC, they are more heat resistant than the alloy and tan top ISC's. and have a greater electrical resistance.
