ISC killer

Im wondering what causes the ISC to go bad. I recently replaced mine, and a week later, I had the p0505(malfunctioning isc code) again. I emailed the seller and he sent me a new one. Same thing happened a while later. Those first two were the tan kind.

So then I emailed the guy again, and this time he sent me a black one. This one worked for almost a month until it threw the same code again.

I still need to do the ISC tests, but was wondering if there's something specific that can cause them to go bad. I want to fix that, if necessary, before getting a new ISC

If the wiring is good (no shorts or breaks in the harness), my next guess would be the ECU.

P0505 is a Idle Control System Failure. One of three things is bad, ISC, Connector or Wiring. Here is your procedure for checking it. It is unlikely that you are getting faulty motors. Probably a short somewhere in the harness.

Jeff at dsm chips once mentioned to watch for a leaky fiav which can cause the ISC to short out. Whatever you do, don't run your car with the bad ISC for any amount of time. Mine filled my car with smoke when it fried one of the drivers in my ecu. Took over a week for the burned/melted plastic smell to get out of my car

Thanks for all the responses guys. I'll check it out next week. Can't do it this weekend...busy with school finals and all. I may end up using my mom's old sentra
