I pulled my plugs out today cause tomorrow im taking my car outta storage and noticed when i looked in the hole that the piston was just solid black and covered in crap and the plugs are black too. Could this be because im running NGK 6's. Do i need to put the 7's back in there. As of now the only mod to my car is exhaust. Just wondering what could cause that.

No. Plug heat range is only a measure of how much heat the plug tip itself holds, and how quickly it cools.

Sounds like you're getting oil into the combustion chamber, now you get to try and figure out from where. Crankcase vent, blowby, PCV valve, rings, valve guides.

Spray nitrous on your car for a few weeks and it will clean it all up so it looks like new. :D (It's true!)

Change your plugs and wide band your car to see what your AFR is. If your running in the 10:1 range then it's gonna look like that. Try and air for 11.5:1 on pump gas depending on your octane you can get in your area.

Also things like PCV and EGR dirty up the combustion chamber so you will want to unhook those as well.

It really doesn't matter much if the pistons are black, most people's are and they don't know it. Thats part of life inside a motor. Even normally aspriated motors get like that and they run 13.5:1 afr at WOT.

does an engine flush actually help with performance. Make the car run stronger?

Yes, it can. If your timing is being pulled from lifters that are ticking because they're clogged, you can free up a significant amount of power with motor flush.

How do you do a motor flush on our cars though? Ive done them on our dirt car with a 350 but how do you engine flush ours?
