I've checked the tech articles and all I can find are ones on smoking or blacking out your headlights, but I don't like either of those. I want to paint the backing or reflective parts black, but somehow still keep it reflective...if that even makes sense:aha:
I want it to go something like this picture....anyone have a step by step or suggestions on how to do it??

Thanks...I'll see how motivated i am to do it...i'm almost lazy enough to just buy them but i'm also too cheap to :p

i dont know if this is the safest way to separate it or not but i hear that putting them in the oven for about 5 minutes can actually melt the casing to where you can separate them easily... i would ask around to see if there is another way though before trying this :thumb:

I agree heat gun not oven.My friend and I did this to his civic and the heat gun worked awesome.

what kind of glue or adhesive to seal it back up?

This may sound weird but we used hot glue and it never leaked. It is still water proof till now and we did it three years ago.You could go to the parts store and find some good clear silicone though i am sure that would work.Be careful peeling the lense off though. The glue needs to be softened all the way around before you start pulling on the lense. Also if you want it shiny use high gloss black spray paint and dont use the cheap stuff.:hellyeah:
