2G Black box to Dsmlink changes?

I have a 98 gst spyder and it has a black box ECU so to install DSM link I need to switch to a 96 97 4g63t ecu correct? if so is it plug n play or will I have to do some wiring?

You need the Eprom ecu out of a 95 and 96 and then it needs to be sent off to be socketed so the dsmlink chip can be installed. Expect to pay around $175 for a eprom ecu and then the $545 to purchase link and have it socketed. There is also a back order on the socket service right now. And yes it is plug and play.

I was going this route but bought the openport 2.0 cables instead to tune my black box. Link is way better though.

Any reason why you don’t want to stay with black box.

Wouldn't it be better just to go with a standalone then?
