ok
i have done quite a bit of research and this is what i have learned
please correct me if i misunderstood

i can replace my stock injectors with 310's
like the ones from hahn racecraft part #H FI-4060
and still use my cartech fpr ( i know its crap but it still works so far)
and not need an AFC

all i should have to do is lower my idle idle fuel pressure until it is smooth
currently it idles with the vacuum line on at 40psi

i read that a good starting point is to turn down the idle fuel pressure to 20 psi

now is that with the vacuum line on or off of the fpr

i plan on getting the portfueler later but the 310s should work ok with it

like i said i know there are tons of posts on this topic but i just wanted to make sure i really understood what i read before i screw something up

You can replace your stock injectors with 310cc injectors. However, good luck tuning them with the cartech. Your base pressure will need to be around 32psi of fuel. The cartech doesn't tune well on anything but stock injectors. You dont need an afc. Hook up the vacuum line.

310cc injectors dont work good with the portfueler if you run the 310s and stock injectors. its not enough fuel for much. i run stock injectors and 440cc injectors and have enough fuel for just at 501hp.

That's good and well but has anyone actually ran 501hp in a 420a with the portfueler other than HRC?

my actual plans were to run the 310's now in place of the stock injectors and then with the portfueler use them as the primaries
from what i have read the portfueler comes with 800cc secondaries and the aeromotive fpr
not use the stock injectors as primaries and the 310's as secondary

I would call HRC and see what they say. They may be able to set you up with the best setup for your car. Spend the money if you have to because injectors for the 420a are cheap and worth the extra fuel.

its 501 crank. not whp.

there are a few people who are close to that.

With around 17-18% loss from the FWD driveline you are only seeing about 405 CHP when making 337whp to the wheels. If you were making 501CHP you would need to have 33% driveline loss or be making 415WHP. I don't know anyone except maybe HRC who are making those kind of numbers. There might be others but like I said, HRC would have the best knowlege of what injector setup to use for what application.

i talked to the tech at hahn today
and the portfueler is designed to only work with the stock injectors as the primaries
and depending on wether or not you have the s16 or s20 you get 400-440 (dont remember the exact #) secondaries
but the tech also said it was running 1200 bucks
that seems like a lot

Uhhh yeah that's a lot of money considering nobody has made over 400whp with the portfueler except HRC.

i think i would be better off putting in 310s and a sfmu
160 for injectors
and i have seen the vortech sfmu go for 150-200

a lot better than over a thousand
might not be able to boost as much
but i would have a lot more cash in my pocket
