Big 16G vs. T3/T4 hybrid.

I just purchased a 95 AWD Tsi Talon. I was told it has the big 16G on it. I have a polished T3/T4 sport 350 JWT(Jim Wolf Technology) turbo sitting in the garage that is like new my brother had it in a 1986 300zx turbo that put down 320HP and 350TQ to the wheels @16psi. The T3/T4 looks bigger, can anyone tell me which one will make the most HP.

B16G is a nice turbo..

but it's not the end all and be all of all turbo's

T3/T4 will push ALOT more then the 16G

but there's other things u have to consider..

Fitment issues (depending on the size of your T3, u may have to lose the AC fan) sometimes big turbo's can get in the way of the aux. like A/C or PS
does it even FIT on the stock manifold? otherwise your gonna need tubular headers.


new pipes... Downpipe, Itanke pipe, intercooler pipe.. for example
Oil lines,

is the T3 Internally or externally Gated

if your on stock sidemount IC, that T3 is gonna soak it in a blink of an eye


Just consider these things before tearing stuff apart

I still have the stock intercooler so at this point it would be a waste.

The previous owner put a 1/2 inch spacer between the turbo manifold and head so the turbo would clear. There is also already an adapter plate going from the manifold to the turbo that is on it.

One guy told me he didnt know what turbo I had and another guy told me he thought it was the B16G the previous owner also says its the B16G the fans are already messed up from the turbo thats on it now.

Run it, just be aware of supporting mods you will need. The t3/t4 will make way more power just on fact of airflow alone, but remember supporting mods.

Lets not forget to bolt on that t3/t4 you're going to need a new exhaust manifold and O2 housing, and depending on the orientation you might have to route the outlet to your IC.

There are way too many T3/T4 variants for us to tell you what you can expect for sure.

That 16g on the other hand is already in your car, and has proven itself to go deep into the 12's. I say stick with that for now until you really have the supporting mods/the urge for something bigger.

He can buy the manifold and o2 for the same price as a 16g, so go with the bigger shit, just make sure you have a fuel pump, injectors,FPR, and a AFC. But you should have all of this anyway to tune a 16g properly. So my advise is to not be a sissy like the majority, grow bawls, go big and go fast. just talking smack

I fully intend on going fast. My biggest problem right now is The SMIC and the stock clutch. After I take care of that I will see how far the stock block can take me.
