better acceleration help

i have and automatic eclipse rs and it has a very slow acceleration. any ideas of what i could do to make it accelerate faster? and would installing headers make it faster? and also is there any kind of chip to get it to a higher speed? for cheap.
i also had installed a cold air intake (short ram) that a little help but not ennough

Not much you can do in a rs new exhaust manifold and exhaust may help a little. Now the stereotypical response... Sell it and buy a turbo!

I have a GS with a CAI, MSD ignition, and a 4-1 race exhaust... (those arent really big mods ) but I dont have a problem from 70-100. It might be because I have a manual but my acceleration is fine.

Installing headers won't make your car faster.. your car only needs 1 header so a second one will just be adding weight sitting in your trunk

Get the following mods then you'll have more acceleration:

1) headers to full exhaust
2) MSD ignition + wires + NGK plugs
3) Unorthodox Racing Pulley (Biggest bank 4 buck)
4) Also if you want a free mod go remove the cat and you'll feel a nice difference (do this after the rest)

How up to date is your regular maintenance? I.E. Fuel filter, transmission fluid, mileage, oil and filter, etc......

Try the basics along with simple mods and you may notice a difference. If you have higher mileage try ZMAX with a fresh oil change. Change your fuel filter, run some LUCAS octane booster, ngk plus, upgraded wires, new ignition coil if it has never been replaced. Another food for thought, if you like hard accelloration more often that not, check your timing belt and related components as well if they have never been changed. Small things like this with a car with mileage can make a noticeable difference.

Get rid of that short ram intake and get a full cold air intake that goes down behind your bumper, gut your catylitic converter if you can in your state, go 2 1/2" exhaust to a decent muffler. I get a lot of props for how my car sounds, I use a Tsudo Fireball. Get a set of headers and check your flex pipe for damage because they do wear out and fail.

Really? This doesnt need done unless you are doing a tune up (which you should always do basic maintenance) and if by MSD ignition you mean the coil, then don;t they suck!

You will be fine with a short ram, cold air really isn't worth it IMO, some people have had luck with the V2 but it really isn't worth the money, if you want to upgrade your intake get something custom, and even then it really isn't worth it until you get further into modding.

I second the first point here. I bought the cold air and at first had to modify it so the damn air filter wouldn't slip off (why they don't put a stupid flange on the end of the pipe I will never know) but then I fabricated it into a short ram cause my air filter was the lowest point of my car .

To the second point... is that an exagerated number Fotown? I have a theory that if you merged all these like threads together they would reach the moon.
