hey i was pondering ways to make my car faster, and since street racing isnt really a long way, i could try to make my car have quicker acceleration. I plan to have a custom complete exhuast what size would accomodate my needs. Also plan to have A ICE-MAN cool air intake and a 60 mm TB. what else would you recommend for better acceleration.
I was thinking of cam gears and advance the timing a little, would that help. The reason i'm planning instead of doing is becuase i lost my job, but i'm trying to get another job.
thanks for some info. especially from any body who has.
also when i turn 18 i'm getting 5k dollars and i'm thinking about a star
stage 1 with a HRC FMIC.that way i have a bigger turbo and a good FMIC.

The mods you have listed seem like a good start, however be aware that alot of the bolt on mods you might be getting now, like header, exhaust, intake, will need to be replaced when you go turbo, so depending on how long that will be, you may want to hold off, or work on other things. Just something to think about

if you are going after acceleration, don't get that tb just yet. wait until you get cams for that. if you get it now you will lose alot of torque. your top end will be better but the first three gears will be alot slower...trust

what stage cams do you recommend.

why does everything have to be in phucking stages? You always hear ricers goin around like, yea man hes got a stage 3 turbo, and stage 2 nitrous. As for brands of cams...i have no clue for nt.

Stages of turbos i can understand. Not really 'ricers' fault either, since turbo kits for non-turbo cars are usually classified under stages.

Stages of nitrious, that i've never heard of. Maybe a stage for each bottle? :D

Cams i've never heard either, unless you consider the different grinds to be stages (street, turbo, drag)

You're not wrong for calling them stages. Crower cams are actually advertised in stages. I was only poking fun at the dude who freaked out about everything being in stages.

I'd poke around 2gnt.com, there is tons of info about cam upgrades. General consensus is Crower Stage 2's or Crane #14's. 14's is the turbo grind, but people have #16's and say they are good as well.

get an intake, did i not see that on ur mod list

heres my mods

AEM cold air intake
SRD header
2.5" flexpipe, downpipe, whatever u call it on a non turbo
2.5" hi flo cat
APEXi dunk exhaust
AF/X underdrive pulley
Fidanza Flywheel
a TRUE 180-190lbs of weight reduction

i ran a 15.6 with new tires...gripped good, pulled a 2.3 60' and trapped at 89mph

the thing about our car is that they are tuned pretty well stock. so some things like the underdrive pulley does wonders cuz it frees up hp not makes it. but i do think from all the info i have read that a AFX udp is one of the best mods....:dsm:

crane cams come in stages also, they are numbered 10,12,14,& 16 or something like that. i hear they are good....trust

I have an NT as well... I am installing a CAI from my short ram.
I was wondering, do you guys know if wrapping your intake tubing in Thermal Wrap would it keep heat out?

Considering when you wrap it around your headers to keeps the heat in and away from the rest of the engine compartment, but if I wrap the intake would it keep hot air out or would it keep it in?

Also what kind of HP and TQ gains come from an UDP?
Also would I notice the power difference?
