Best racing seat for the money?

i want to get a respectable racing seat but i do not know where to start. need help. also i want some input on 1 seat or 2?

Get 2 seats if you care about them matching. This months issue of project car just put some in a celica for a pretty good price. Ive never seen a set in person so I couldnt say much about the quality of them. Check out UNIVERSAL RECLINABLE RACING BUCKET SEAT - K2MOTOR | FREE SHIPPING for pics and different styles. For that price, I might pick a set up for myself at some point and give them a try. The worst that could happen is that you dont like them. If thats the case, sell them and buy something more expensive. Ive had my eye on some corbeaus for a little while now. The only problem is that theyre pretty expensive. Most of the k2 seats run a little over 200 for a set.

All depends someone can spend 600 bucks on a pair of racing seats and not like them but another person can spend 200 bucks on there seats and love them.

These are what i had in my old GS. i had the gray/black combo. I thought they were very nice racing seats. But when i bought GSX and and used the stock leather ones the stock ones are much better. just more comfortable and looked better.

i have had my eye on a single sparco torino 2, because i don't want to go so cheap that shit will break. i also think that i shouldn't cheap it on something that could save my life. has anyone seen a car with just a single seat?

try F1SPEC, they make really nice seats for pretty cheap.

go with 2, yeah it costs more $ but makes your car look a lot less tacky. what kind of harness are you looking for, 4,5 point?

yeah the 4 is not bad at all, my friends dad has a 11 sec beatle and they work perfectly fine, plus your nuts don't get crushed hahahaha

My question is, how well do these universale fits bolt on? It looks like you might have to drill some new holes or weld something. Unless of course you manage to connect the OEM sliders to the seats.

yeah im not to sure but i think youd probably be able to make bracket with some square tubing (1/8") thick paint it and bolt to that, figure out how high you want it and then be able to slide it around for the right "feel" then bolt/weld it down to your car...just my thoughts

Very true and I got my seats for my honda from them. They are great seats and I got a pair for like 400 shipped.

I seen many cars with a single seat. I personally dont like the single seat look at all.

Like the guy mentioned above they did this in the new PCM. ( Project Car Mag) The sliders should come with the seats but the adaptive brackets have to be ordered. It also might depend on the application.

Bang for the buck wise, you can't go wrong with Evo Recaros. I picked up a pair locally for $500. They look good, are comfortable, and have plenty of lateral support. Of course, you are on your own as far as mounting them goes!

You can get the Evo Recaros for cheap, but they are no way near as good as a racing seat shell. I own an Evo and have a Sparco EVO 2 seat for my eclipse. While the evo seat is leaps and bounds beyond most stock seats it can't touch a true bucket for driver stabilization on the race track (I've driven both at hpde events).

If your goal is something that will work really well on a track where you're really pushing it, you have to get a real bucket racing seat. If you're just going for a bit more sporty feeling driving around town, the EVO Recaros do that very well. Sure are more comfortable than most buckets too (can't say all since I obviously haven't sat in every seat out there).
