I'm planing to buy a pair of racing seats as part of my winter interior project but am a little hung up on a few questions that I cant find answers to in other racing seat threads. I figured I would list what I am looking for here and if anyone knows of a seat that will fit what I want then please respond with links.
1. Size - I own a 2g Spyder so headroom is not important however size is. I'm 5'6 and 200lbs so I need something that will allow me to see over the steering wheel while supporting a 38 inch waist.
2. Material - I need something that will hold up to direct sunlight. I don't know how cloth would look in a convertible and have no clue what micro-suede looks or feels like. The seats need to be all black.
3. Functionality - I want something that is reclinable. I plan on installing a 4-point rollbar after the seats are installed so that I can adjust them to the position I want them, then weld the rollbar in around the seats.
4. Price - I don't want to pay more than $1000 shipped for the pair (not including brackets) but I don't want any cheap ebay knockoffs either. Something name brand like Sparco or Corbeau.
5. Belts - I'm looking for a 4 or 5 point DOT approved harness. The car is street driven so I don't want to get pulled over and have to pay a $65 dollar seatbelt ticket every time I want to go to my favorite Friday night meeting spot.
These are all just my personal recommendations and are subject to change so please let me hear any suggestions or advice you have to offer!
