Just wondering what the best bov could be that's oem, on whatever car. Something I can go look for at junkyards or ebay. The one that'd hold the most boost. Anyone have any idea what it'd be and what psi it's good for? Of course this might not apply to guys with stock i/c pipes but I'm thinking of a bov that can be welded to a pipe or a flange welded anyway.

Well I know there's a lotta choices I'm sure. Evo 9, maybe a Supra, MR2 turbo, Porsche, etc.? Wonder how they stack up to 1g's. Put it that way.

Okay, I wonder what the vote would be if I went on a Supra forum, RX-7, etc. Lol. You guys are no help. Sheesh. Guess there's no other option out there other than a 1g bov.

Thats because the 1g BOV is one of the best out there. Out of all the turbo non dsm cars I have seen, most of them run 1g BOVs (as far as OEM style) Go to the Honda forums and you'll find that many of them run the 1g style

Okay, well then let's compare the 1g to an Evo 9 bov. Or do ya'll know anything about them?

the evo 9 bov is good as well, but your going to be spending more money, and I'm not sure on the modification aspect, listen don't think we are all being bias, the 1g bov is an amazing bov, but if you want to get nit picky, buy an aftermarket, research them... when you cant find an answer on your own, then ask questions. i chose the greddy type R, it doesnt make the most noise, but its a hell of a bov :thumb:

Who says I'm getting nit-picky? I mean if this is something that can be a good option to other guys out there looking for bov's, this could be a good thread if there's other "good" bov's out there. What if a 2g guy is trying to upgrade his crappy plastic one? Doesn't have $250 laying around for an aftermarket bov and goes looking thru a salvage yard. If he stumbles on "x" car with a bov in it, I'm sure it'd be useful to know if the bov could be a good and cheap upgrade. I did say I'm wondering how the other bov's compare to a 1g. We all know that a 1g bov is good. So I'm not asking if they're good or not, since we already know. But is a newer style Supra bov crap? MR2? Do dsm's have the ONLY good oem bov out there? I'm looking for better answers than just, "I vote 1g". Maybe something more like, "I vote Posrche 911 turbo bov cause it holds "x" amount of boost, is metal and not cheap ass plastic, and sounds great.

Sure that people using the search function would greatly appreciate those type of answers.

evo 9 bov is good, evo 8's upgrade to them. evo 9's boost 19psi on 20g's so you know they hold some boost.

I believe I read in one of the forums that a crushed 1G BOV is good to around 22psi and after that point it will start to lift. As for the MR-2 I have a friend with one and I will ask him what they can handle. As for sound if you want a loud bov and have the supporting system such as the GM MAF to vent it properly a Turbo XS RFL is by far one of the loudest BOV on the market, but the newer RFL's are not as good as older versions. I have a Turbo Dodge buddy and most of the turbo dodge guys run the RFL or 1G bov.

1g's hands down. SCC tested a variety of oem and after market bov's and the 1g came out as the "best" performing bov. As i remember it. Alot of the oem's used a "modified" version of the 1g.
