I want a stage 3 top and bottom end but it is costly. I only have a GST so reality kick me in the but when I said I wanted a 600hp fwd. I already no you can't convert a GST to a GSX unless you have the spider. So I just want some opions what to do. Don't say go get a GSX because insurance kills me as it is. I have been thinking of getting a cyclone motor.

Why not just go with the regular 6 bolt? Its good for right around 400hp. Also, keep in mind a lot of HP doesn't always give you the numbers. ;) In a fwd there is a happy medium. You just have to find it.

Don't give up on that gst. You might have trouble on street tires but at the track with a set of slicks you can get some pretty good 60' times. Check out girlieracr's 60' times with a gst. 1.6 :thumb: , I know she is lightened but that just goes to show that it is possible with a gst. Ask yourself what are your goals with this car and motor? A JDM Cyclone motor is a decent idea but you just have to be careful and do your homework before purchasing one. Make sure to actually speak with someone on the phone who speaks clear english and ask question about the actual motor you are getting. There are some that come with the 13g and 450 injectors which I believe is from a VR4, and then some will come with a 16g and 510 (pretty sure?) injectors. Make sure you know which one you are getting. Don't let them just send you what the have available at that point in time. Point is know what your long term goal is and do some research and ask lots of questions. This forum is your new best friend.
 
I guess I am the lucky one haveing 3 shops in Cincinnati that carry nothing but JDM motors.
 
Two things:

There is no reason why you cant do the conversion from a GST to a GSX. Most argue that it isnt worth the cost and trouble when GSXs arent THAT hard to find at a reasonable price. AWD Spyders cant be bought which is why you see them converted the most. Some have dont the GST to GSX conversion though.

Second, insurance shouldnt be any different for a GSX than it is for your GST. They are the same for me anyway.
