I couldn't find anything on here about this, even though i'm sure it is somewhere. Changing vacuum lines and my BOV vacuum nipple broke off. Will it be ok, or do i need to figure a way to seal both ends off? I have no idea what this will cause or how to temp fix it. (for about 2-3 months)

Your BOV won't open properly without that boost source going to it, you need a new one.

nice. Just ordered a 1G BOV and overnighted the adapter from Japan. (sorry, had to say it). Will it be legit to drive for about 3 days at stock boost and moderate driving? and while we're at this convo, when my turbo spools (stock, so 3rd gear and up), It sounds like someone's pulling plastic tight and blowing on it. Assuming BOV has been stuck open slightly?

Might want to pull your intake and look at the compressor fins on the turbo. Last time I heard that sound on a customers car, it had sucked something through the turbo and bent a compressor fin. The bent fin was making the whistling noise.
Try to not make any boost if you absolutely have to drive your car before your new bov shows up.

by no boost you mean? driving to/from work i hit about 50% stock boost at most. that considered no boost? i taped the hell out of the vacuum hose with some jb weld for a temp fix. looks hilarious. :D

Also, i'm sure it's not the turbo, it only does it the first 10/15 minutes of driving. strange... i guess we'll find out when the 1G BOV comes in. It's never seemed to take away performance so i've never cared that much.

You will have to stay out of boost completely unless you want to start damaging your turbo. The BOV relieves pressure in the system before reaching the turbo and causing the compressor wheel to stop and spin backwards. That can lead to bent or destroyed fins and/or a broken turbine shaft

Get yourself an actuall boost gauge. The stock gauge doesn't tell you anything.

With the vacuum not working, doesn't that mean the BOV would be constantly forced open and sending the air back through the intake? That shouldn't make it spin backwards, it should just give me crappy gas mileage. Unless these BOVs don't work like every other BOV out there. I got to work fine this morning. i raised my idle to relieve some pressure off the system by keeping the throttle a little more open and let off the gas really slow to prevent the air from slamming and being forced back. It looks like i'll be good until wed/thur. Thanks for all of the help.

Think this will work? LOL
